Thanks so much for shout out! I started sew...HEY! Thanks so much for shout out! I started sewing a few months after Buddy (my first). You are crafty, so it will be easy for you to pick up on. I have peeked at some of your posts and see that you guys remodeled... we did that to three 1930-1950 houses. We probably would have a lot to talk about! Anyways... I had Kenmore for my first sewing machine and it got the job done, but it died... my service man said I just sewed it to death. My second is a bernina and a dream, but I would wait until you fall in love with sewing to make a big step like that. My sister just got a Janome from Opelika Sewing Center and she loves it... More importantly is that I would buy one from somewhere that can service it for you (not from walmart) most of the time they will also include free classes that are a great way to learn all your machine does and also learn some free sewing tips. anyways... if you just go and look around they can show you a lot and you can learn what you may like in a machine. i would avoid sewing/embroidery combos because they tend to break more. look for a automatic buttonhole options, adjusts for needle positions left and right, and thread cutter. also see what presser feet are included because you will need a zipper foot. Sorry for the long post, but wanted to share what I knew. You can ask them if they have any used machines, because some people trade up and they resale the older ones...make sure they include a warranty though. email me if you have any questions... jamaketcham@gmail.com
Happy Sewing!!Ketcham Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02707684689105126439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6945192180045786460.post-29011947381120795382010-09-26T15:53:11.791-05:002010-09-26T15:53:11.791-05:00So very exciting you are having a baby. Congratula...So very exciting you are having a baby. Congratulations to you both. I am not known for my sewing skills. My mother was incredible and sewed all my clothes growing-up, & even my maternity clothes when I was pregnant with my 4. I had a stellar old Singer machine but sadly by accident my father threw it out. I have never had a great one like that again. My mother loved her last machine the best & that was a Bernina.

You will have such fun sewing for your new little one. I use to make some fun dresses for my daughters, and Halloween costumes. I always trust consumer reports. Call me old-fashioned.

Take care of yourself & have a lovely Sunday evening.

xdebDumbwit Tellherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18148671166061931241noreply@blogger.com
